Description
This multi-layered mineral originally formed on the roof of a tiny cave.
Dissolved limestone (calcium carbonate) dripped down to create long thin icicle-like stalactites.
These aragonite/calcite columns were then covered by chalcedony- a pure clear quartz coating of tiny crystals called drusy or druse.
Finally, a third crystallization stage of clear, faceted apophyllite double-enders, perched on the ends of the columns.
We mounted it upside-down, which now looks right-side up.
The custom steel stand securely and gracefully floats the geode, elevates and levitates it.
This cluster sparkles with the amplified light of thousands of drusies.
