These clear smoky-citrine towers arose from the ground in Minais Gerais State, Brazil.
They exhibit three growth stages.
A central crystal is surrounded by parallel points, which are coated by tiny quartz druse.
The crystals look tan colored when lit from the front, and warm gold colored when lit from the back.
In these images, late afternoon sunlight brings out the beautiful color and intricate details.
