| NAME | Amazonia | ||
| TYPE | Amazonite with quartz and tourmaline | ||
| SIZE | 24" high 35" wide 225 Lbs. | ||
| DESCRIPTION | I like to call this stone "Amazingite!" It is a truly amazing beauty. Deepest blue amazonite (from the Amazon River basin) highlights the yard-wide piece. While it looks like many conjoined crystals, it is in fact, one large totally natural crystal slab exhibiting parallel twinning. A delicate grid-work of white quartz dusts the front. The sides of the facets are covered by thousands of tiny, perfect, black tourmaline crystals. What a lovely color combination! All three minerals are silica based, and would work well together as a special Feng Shui piece, to balance the energy of a large home or building. Displayed vertically, it represents an Oriental mountain shape of great detail and beauty. When displayed horizontally, it looks like a surreal desert scene of sparking mesas and canyons. | NAME | Stalactite Forest | ||
| TYPE | Brazilian quartz stalactites overgrown on calcite stalactites. | ||
| SIZE | 48" high 29" wide 18" deep 600 pounds |
||
| DESCRIPTION | This unusual treasure comes from the mines of mysterious Brazil. Unlike most quartz specimens, this one forms true stalactites (grown from the ceiling of a cave, and all in parallel.) The original formation was from drip-type calcite stalactites, also called "soda straws." A secondary growth of quartz crystallized around the existing straws, to form multifaceted, shimmering rows of crystals. Inside the clear crystals are tiny blooms of cacoxinite, a dark gold mineral. An impressive presence when standing up, the Stalactite Forest looks like a city or forest of crystals when displayed flat. | ||
